ELCT 106 Aerospace Assembly and Safety Techniques3 credits This course offers an immersive exploration of aerospace assembly techniques with a strong focus on safety protocols and aircraft systems. It equips students with the foundational skills needed to excel in aerospace manufacturing environments. Through a blend of theoretical knowledge and hands-on practice, students will gain proficiency in aircraft assembly, safety procedures, and essential technical operations.
Prerequisites: ABED 40 or AHSE 56 (or placement into MATH 87 or AHSE 66 or higher) and ABED 46 (or placement into ENGL 93 or higher)
Corequisites: ELCT 115 , ELCT 126 , and ELCT 107
Course Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Apply safety protocols for secure aerospace manufacturing by identifying and addressing potential hazards effectively
- Demonstrate fundamental aircraft knowledge and advanced electrical procedures, enhancing specialized skills in aerospace assembly
- Execute precise operations like sealing, electrical bonding, and grounding to industry standards using accurate interpretations of aircraft drawings and work instructions
- Demonstrate hands-on proficiency in using power tools and assembly equipment securely and efficiently
- Enhance digital literacy skills for aerospace work environments by learning to proficiently operate computing equipment, access critical job information, and accurately complete necessary paperwork
