SEW 110 Sewing for Beginners I1 credit This course is for those who have never sewn before. Students will learn sewing machine usage and care and how to select proper sewing tools/supplies and fabrics for the various projects.
Prerequisites: None
Course Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Identify parts of a sewing machine
- Use a sewing machine to complete class projects
- Demonstrate various sewing skills, including gathering fabric, threading a needle, quilter’s knot, sewing on a button, layering fabrics, rotary cutting equipment, French seam, closing a seam, and basic quilting
