ARGT 111 Architectural Print Reading I

2 credits
This course is an overview and introduction to print reading and interpretation, layout, terminology, dimensions, symbols, and building codes. Actual professional construction documents will be reviewed and studied.

Prerequisites: ENGT 101  or instructor permission.

Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:

  • Define  terminology as related to construction documents
  • Formulate orthographic sketches
  • Demonstrate familiarity of architectural/engineering scales
  • Recognize architectural symbols and conventions
  • Interact with industry professionals in a professional manner
  • Review architectural blueprints and identify common construction components
  • Identify common materials used in construction projects through review of plans
