ARGT 111 Architectural Print Reading I2 credits This course is an overview and introduction to print reading and interpretation, layout, terminology, dimensions, symbols, and building codes. Actual professional construction documents will be reviewed and studied.
Prerequisites: ENGT 101 or instructor permission. Quarters Offered: All
Student Outcomes/Competencies: Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Define terminology as related to construction documents
- Formulate orthographic sketches
- Demonstrate familiarity of architectural/engineering scales
- Recognize architectural symbols and conventions
- Interact with industry professionals in a professional manner
- Review architectural blueprints and identify common construction components
- Identify common materials used in construction projects through review of plans
