ELCT 102 Precision Assembly Techniques

4 credits
This course provides comprehensive hands-on training in aircraft assembly techniques, focusing on the use of power tools, precision measuring instruments, and adherence to safety protocols.

Prerequisites: ABED 40  or AHSE 56  (or placement into MATH 87  or AHSE 66  or higher) and ABED 46  (or placement into ENGL 93  or higher) 

Corequisites: ELCT 101 ELCT 103 ELCT 104 , and ELCT 105   

Course Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:

  • Utilize precision measuring instruments effectively to ensure accurate assembly, demonstrating an understanding of their functions and applications in the assembly process
  • Apply precision measuring tools, techniques, and assembly methods to achieve highquality aircraft assembly while upholding safety standards
  • Demonstrate different sealing methods 
  • Describe sealing methods applications in maintaining structural integrity and safety within aerospace assembly
  • Analyze and distinguish between FAA-mandated and optional procedures to demonstrate a thorough understanding of regulatory requirements
  • Recognize the significance of teamwork in aerospace assembly
