ELCT 102 Precision Assembly Techniques4 credits This course provides comprehensive hands-on training in aircraft assembly techniques, focusing on the use of power tools, precision measuring instruments, and adherence to safety protocols.
Prerequisites: ABED 40 or AHSE 56 (or placement into MATH 87 or AHSE 66 or higher) and ABED 46 (or placement into ENGL 93 or higher)
Corequisites: ELCT 101 , ELCT 103 , ELCT 104 , and ELCT 105
Course Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Utilize precision measuring instruments effectively to ensure accurate assembly, demonstrating an understanding of their functions and applications in the assembly process
- Apply precision measuring tools, techniques, and assembly methods to achieve highquality aircraft assembly while upholding safety standards
- Demonstrate different sealing methods
- Describe sealing methods applications in maintaining structural integrity and safety within aerospace assembly
- Analyze and distinguish between FAA-mandated and optional procedures to demonstrate a thorough understanding of regulatory requirements
- Recognize the significance of teamwork in aerospace assembly
