MEDA 222 Office Management & Practicum Preparation5 credits This course prepares medical assistants with office manager skills. Topics include: creating a policy and procedures manual, creating an inventory, ordering supplies, interpersonal communication, and conflict resolution. The student will also be prepared to enter the practicum piece of the program by writing a resume, participating in mock interviews and mock clinicals, and filling out the CMA exam application and the WA State Licensure application.
Prerequisites: MEDA 207 and MEDA 219
Corequisites: MEDA 221
Course Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Create a policy and procedures manual
- Prepare to be interviewed and how to interview
- Participate in mock interviews
- Participate in mock clinicals
- Prepare the application for the certification exam
- Prepare the application for the WA State Licensure
