ABED 63 Machining I-BEST Support I

This course is exclusively for students enrolled in the Machining Certificate of Completion programs including CNC Production and Inspection, Milling Setup and Operation, Multi-Axis Programming, Setup, and Operation, and Turning Setup and Operation. It addresses specific terminology and skills covered in the technical courses.

Prerequisites: ELL 50 or placement by assessment (NRS ESL 6 or ABE 4)

Corequisites: MACH 107 or MACH 117 or MACH 137

Course Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:

Explain the meaning of symbols, key terms, and other words and phrases used in machining and machine tool anatomy
Discuss and identify various machining cutting tool materials and workpiece materials
Plan, develop, document and improve machining processes
Outline safety procedures and demonstrate ability to understand and follow oral and written directives related to safety
Identify and interpret material safety data sheets
