ARCH 134 Building Systems4 credits This course introduces electrical and mechanical systems for buildings including: building heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems, heat transfer concepts, water supply, drainage, and electrical and lighting systems.
Prerequisites: ARCH 132
Corequisites: ARCH 210 and ARCH 212
Course Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Explain the basic concepts of building heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems, heat transfer, water supply, drainage, and power and lighting systems
- Solve simple electrical and mechanical design problems
- Interpret electrical and mechanical drawings used in building design
