NURS 242 Medical Surgical Nursing III Practicum

• Demonstrate professional behavior and accountability consistent with ANA code of ethics and program and facility responsibilities of nursing 
• Demonstrate effective communication skills working with clients, family members, interdisciplinary team members, and faculty through verbal, written, and electronic mediums 
• Identify and address ethical and safety issues for the client and family
• Apply critical thinking and clinical judgment skills, demonstrating the ability to prioritize interventions, anticipate complications, provide evidenced-based care, and adapt nursing care plans based on client responses at the Q5 student level 
• Demonstrate proficiency in implementing the role of the nurse providing holistic care for the client with regard to timely, safe, ethical, inclusive, individualized, equitable, effective, and financially responsible care within the student nurse scope of practice at the Q5 student level 
• Develop individualized client goals and plans of care that incorporate client/family education considerations at the Q5 student level  
• Demonstrate effective use of information systems & technology to support and document the delivery of quality care provided at the Q5 student level
