HRM 295 SHRM Certification Study Preparation3 credits This course is designed to introduce key components of Human Resource Management in order to prepare learners for success on the SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP exam. Students will work to comprehend, analyze, and evaluate key situations in order to master the SHRM Body of Applied Skills and Knowledge (SHRM BASK). Successful learners will establish themselves as a globally-recognized human resource expert by earning the new standard in HR Certification: SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) and SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP). Learners will expand and test their knowledge and practical, real-life competencies in areas critical for human resource career success.
Prerequisites: ABED 40 or AHSE 56 (or placement into MATH 87 or AHSE 66 or higher) and ENGL 99 (or placement into ENGL& 101 or higher) and instructor permission required
Course Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Apply each domain of the SHRM material tools to maximize learning
- Analyze the SHRM material in relationship to your applied professional experience
- Improve ability to evaluate human resource situations based on national best practices
- Master the human resource content to pass situational-based exams
- Meet the academic merits for comprehending, engaging, and recognizing human resource terms, procedures, and practices
