ABED 61 Welding I-BEST Support I3 credits This course is exclusively for students enrolled in the first term of the Welding Introduction Certificate of Completion program. It addresses specific terminology and skills covered in the first-term technical courses.
Prerequisites: ELL 50 or placement by assessment (NRS ESL 6 or ABE 4)
Corequisites: WELD 101 and WELD 102
Course Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Determine the meaning of symbols, key terms, and other words and phrases used in welding and manufacturing and use them
- Read and follow blueprints
- Outline safety procedures and demonstrate ability to understand and follow oral and written directives related to safety
- Apply mathematical skills to make equipment adjustments/calibrations and to complete fabrication projects
- Prepare a cover letter and resume
