GAME 420 Rapid Prototyping

4 credits
This course explores rapid prototyping for game development. Students will examine and build different game controllers. Students will also design systems and mechanics that support the game controller. Feedback forms will be used to help tune student’s games with the overall goal to design a fun prototype that could be converted into a complete video game.

Prerequisites: GAME 318 GAME 332 , and GAME 367

Course Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:

  • Construct rapid production of game controllers
  • Design feedback forms for game prototypes
  • Analyze data from feedback forms
  • Implement proper design choices based on feedback
  • Design and implement necessary mechanics for game prototypes
  • Design and implement goals for game prototypes
  • Design and implement levels that support the game prototype
  • Integrate the functions of  physics engines
  • Create basis AI systems
