BTE 106 Keyboarding II3 credits Students continue to develop touch control of the keyboard, develop proper keyboarding techniques, and build speed and accuracy through concentrated practice. The student must show competency by keyboarding at 50 words a minute for 3 minutes, with 3 or fewer errors.
Prerequisites: BTE 105
Course Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Read letters, numbers, and symbols correctly
- Operate computer hardware
- Transfer keyboarding skills to word processing software
- Demonstrate basic-level skill productivity through straight-copy practice
- Demonstrate keyboarding skill in order to attain a minimum 50 words per minute with five or fewer errors on a five-minute timing
