NURS 114 Health Assessment Theory

This course is an introduction to the concepts of health promotion throughout the life span as a basis for performing a total client assessment. Critical thinking skills and cultural needs are included. This lecture course material will be applied in the Health Assessment Lab.

Prerequisites: BIOL& 241, BIOL& 242, BIOL& 260, CHEM& 121, any CMST& course, ENGL& 101, MATH& 146, NUTR& 101, and PSYC& 200

Corequisites: NURS 110, NURS 111, NURS 112, NURS 113, NURS 117, and NURS 129

Course Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:

Integrate evidence-based knowledge to make sound clinical judgements reflective of safe practice standards.
Apply the concepts of leadership, management, quality improvement, and patient safety in the delivery of patient care
