NURS 114 Health Assessment Theory1 credit This course is an introduction to the concepts of health promotion throughout the life span as a basis for performing a total client assessment. Critical thinking skills and cultural needs are included. This lecture course material will be applied in the Health Assessment Lab.
Prerequisites: BIOL& 241 , BIOL& 242 , BIOL& 260 , CHEM& 121 , any CMST& course, ENGL& 101 , MATH& 146 , NUTR& 101 , and PSYC& 200
Corequisites: NURS 110 , NURS 111 , NURS 112 , NURS 113 , NURS 117 , and NURS 129
Course Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Integrate evidence-based knowledge to make sound clinical judgements reflective of safe practice standards.
- Apply the concepts of leadership, management, quality improvement, and patient safety in the delivery of patient care
- Communicate effectively and accurately through verbal, written, and electronic mediums.
- Plan and provide safe, inclusive, equitable, effective, and financially responsible nursing care through the appropriate utilization of available resources.
