NURS 110 Introduction to Pathophysiology

4 credits
This is an introductory course in the use of critical thinking, the understanding of scientific knowledge, and the application of the nursing process to the physiological response in health disturbances.

Prerequisites: BIOL& 241 BIOL& 242 BIOL& 260 CHEM& 121 , any CMST& course, ENGL& 101 MATH& 146 NUTR& 101 , and PSYC& 200  

Corequisites: NURS 111 NURS 112 NURS 113 NURS 114 NURS 117 , and NURS 129  

Course Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:

  • Integrate evidence-based knowledge to make sound clinical judgements reflective of safe practice standards.
  • Apply the concepts of leadership, management, quality improvement, and patient safety in the delivery of patient care
