Students who complete the Environmental Horticulture Midpoint certificate will have a strong foundational knowledge of horticulture skills required in common entry-level positions in the industry. Botany, plant propagation, integrated pest management techniques, soil science, pruning, plant id, and tools will be introduced in the classroom and practiced in a real-world setting.
Midpoint certificate graduates will:
have the knowledge to complete most landscape maintenance duties that horticulture industry employers require
understand plant growth requirements specific to intensive plant production and how to manage them
problem solve pest and disease issues common to nursery plants
