15 CREDITS

Program Admission Date: Fall

The Certificate of Completion in Epidemiology explores methods of collecting and evaluating population-based data to answer public health questions. It includes approaches for: obtaining data from human subjects, assessing associations in the data, and inferring causality. Courses in this program provide learning opportunities and job training in observational study design and analysis approaches, and introductory statistical programming, as well as practical considerations for conducting population-based studies in the field and communicating research to the public. Applied work in the certificate includes case studies, group projects, and self-selected epidemiology research projects.

Lake Washington Institute of Technology does not offer every course each quarter. It is the student’s responsibility to consult the Class Schedule and work out an individual schedule with an adviser or counselor. Any developmental coursework a student may be required to complete may increase the program length.
