Students who successfully complete required courses in the Social Science distribution area will be able to:
- Describe basic social science terminology, concepts, and, at least, one theory
- Demonstrate how social and/or psychological factors affect behavior and critically analyze information about human behavior
- Describe how culture, gender, and group identity influence the individual and the relationships between and among groups and recognize power imbalances within society
- Demonstrate cultural humility and perspective-taking

Social Science Courses
The following courses meet the Social Science distribution requirement for associate degrees and certificates. Students enrolled in a Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) program should consult the program outline in the catalog for the specific 300- and 400-level courses that meet the Social Science requirement for their program.
