FTNS 230 Fitness Externship4 credits The Fitness Externship provides an opportunity for students to work in a health, fitness, recreational, or therapeutic facility of interest to the student. The focus of this course is on leadership and the student’s ability to integrate delivery of training with teamwork.
Prerequisites: FTNS 210

Student Outcomes/Competencies: Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Demonstrate the knowledge, skill, abilities, and talents required for an entry level personal trainer
- Design and implement an integrated medical-performance training model for multiple clients with various knowledge, skill, and abilities
- Motivate, coach, and direct clients towards functional transformation while optimizing their ability to perform activities of daily living, recreation, and athletics
