ART 112 Intermediate Painting for Non Art Majors5 credits Students further the skills taught in ART 111 and investigate painting as a means for self-expression. Explores advanced compositions and use of various materials.
Prerequisites: ART 111 .
Quarters Offered: Fall, Winter, Spring
Student Outcomes/Competencies: Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Execute a series of paintings around a theme
- Compose an image with atmospheric perspective
- Blend unique hues through the mixture of primary, secondary, and neutral colors/tones
- Explore painted composition through rapid sketches
- Assess a variety of painting styles and schools
- Demonstrate an applied knowledge of painting and craftsmanship techniques
- Paint on a variety of materials with mixed methods
