DHYG 219 Pathology II2 credits This course builds on the first year dental science courses and continues to focus on aspects of the health/disease continuum. Topics covered include oral and periodontal pathologies.
Prerequisites: DHYG 142 , DHYG 143 , DHYG 145 , DHYG 218 .
Corequisites: DHYG 212 , DHYG 213 , DHYG 214 , DHYG 215 .

Student Outcomes/Competencies: Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Explain specific soft and hard tissue pathologies of the orofacial region
- Properly perform extra oral and intra oral exams to detect hard and soft tissue pathologies
- Recognize pathologies of the teeth
- Classify specific periodontal pathologies
