ADHS 82 College Strategies2 credits This course is designed as a support for students in their first quarter in the Direct Entry program at Lake Washington Technical Academy. Students will learn goal setting, self-management skills, study skills, and college success strategies, as well as college navigation skills, particularly around the tools and resources you can access on and off campus. This course is to practice the skills they will need in future classes and support student success in the classes they have now.
Prerequisites: Enrollment in LWTA
Course Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Apply abilities to your fullest extent to achieve high-quality results and outcomes
- Use time-management, organizational, and study skills, especially college navigation through technology and systems
- Demonstrate independent work, including short- and longer-term goal setting
- Develop positive relationships with adults to support success
- Apply advocacy skills for self and others and ability to assert self, when necessary
