HRM 465 Organizational Behavior, Effectiveness, and Change Management5 credits This course covers principles of organizational behavior, organizational development and the practices of change management. Students will examine theories and methods for improving organizational effectiveness, including engagement and organizational development.
Prerequisites: At least 90 credits completed of 100/200 level courses and admission to a bachelor’s program
Course Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Explain how combining HR practices and organizational development strategies can cultivate employee engagement, support leadership and management development and improve collaboration and communication
- Examine theories, methods, and practices related to organizational behavior and change management
- Analyze how appropriate organizational development interventions support individual, team, and organizational effectiveness
- Discuss issues relevant to the three levels of organizational behavior (i.e., individual, group, and organizational)
- Explain how successful practices in organizational effectiveness and change management lead to business success.
- Identify the need for a change management process and approaches to support the organization in implementing change
- Describe the process and factors involved in leading and implementing change and effectiveness initiatives
