HRM 425 Human Resource Strategic Planning and Workforce Management5 credits This course covers effective human capital strategies and practices including strategic HR planning, workforce planning and talent management, that gives organizations a sustainable competitive advantage. Students will be prepared to analyze and develop investigation techniques to provide informed council to all levels of the organization.
Prerequisites: At least 90 credits completed of 100/200 level courses and admission to a bachelor’s program
Course Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Examine the advantages of integrating human resource management and strategic planning
- Analyze approaches to human resource planning and how they are related to organizational strategy
- Examine the importance of talent management and how it supports organizational success
- Adjust to the markets to compete for talent in hiring and developing to execute business strategies
- Discuss the impact that human resource management has on talent in an organization
- Distinguish essential elements and stages of career and leadership development
- Examine and apply ethical investigation techniques for workplace issues to provide an informed counsel to all levels in an organization
College-Wide Learning Outcomes This course teaches to the college-wide learning outcome of Information Literacy, the ability to recognize when information is needed, to choose the appropriate tools to locate the required information, and to effectively gather and evaluate the information.
