BH 492 Practicum II

5 credits

Practicum II continues to expose students to new clients, professionals, and services, building upon Practicum I by providing opportunities to participate in behavioral health/human services. In collaboration with practicum supervisors and agency staff, students will work on new skills. Ninety hours of recorded clinical experience are required.

Course Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:

Integrate theoretical classroom learning with experiential learning to implement professionalism and best practices related to behavioral health in a community agency setting
Integrate professional identity and scope of practice within a healthcare team.
Demonstrate enhanced clinical skills
Contribute to the development of a care plan with the patient, the patient’s support network, and team members
Prepare for supervisory meetings
Identify the organization’s scope of practice, strengths, weaknesses, staff positions, funding, and clientele
