APDZ 310 Introduction to Applied Design

5 credits
A survey course of concepts and practice in applied design. Students will examine visual organization and design form making theory.

Prerequisites: Admission to BAS in Design program and at least 90 credits completed of 100/200 level courses

Corequisites: APDZ 331  

Course Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:

  • Explain the process of design form making
  • Evaluate their design and creative skills and identify areas for improvement
  • Use resources effectively (library, learning management system, e-portfolio tools)
  • Articulate their personal design aesthetic in visual form
  • Create a professional level portfolio artifact or visual presentation
