APDZ 382 Brand Communication and Marketing5 credits This course provides a survey of the field of brand communication design and marketing from historical, cultural and industry practice perspectives. Students will study the principles of brand communication and contemporary marketing theory.
Prerequisites: Admission to the BTAD Program or instructor permission. Quarters Offered: Winter
Student Outcomes/Competencies: Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Describe the basic process of brand development and value alignment
- Demonstrate familiarity with contemporary marketing principles
- Identify effective marketing and communication strategies for a business
- Describe the implications of technology and global influence on communication
- Describe the historical relevance and evolution of marketing communication
- Produce a brand identity and concept delivery document
- Employ creative and critical thinking to enhance problem solving
