APDZ 331 Managing Creativity & Innovation5 credits The unique role of the manager who is responsible for creation and design is examined. Particular attention is paid to the skills needed to lead a team of creative professionals.
Prerequisites: Admission to the BTAD Program. Quarters Offered: Spring
Student Outcomes/Competencies: Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Identify and describe major design paradigm shifts
- Describe the creative process and the concept development process
- Describe theoretical frameworks of organizational behavior
- Analyze and synthesize how applying organizational behavior frameworks contribute to the sustainability and success of organizations
- Describe how personality types influence productivity and performance in organizations
- Recommend group leadership and management techniques that allow for creativity and innovation
- Develop and practice effective roles in team collaboration and leadership
- Give examples of how schedules, budgets and product quality are inter-related
