LASR 202 Precision Optical Systems: Quality Assurance, Metrology, and Alignment6 credits This course introduces the industry-standard optical and electro-optical systems and techniques for precision measurements, alignments, and quality assurance (QA) required to identify, measure, inspect, and ensure that a system of optics or high-grade optical components assembly meets its procurement specifications. The course content prepares students to take nationally recognized certification exams such as the Electronic Technician Association (ETA) photonics and precision optics certifications: Specialist in Precision Optics (SPO), and Technician in Precision Optics (TPO).
Prerequisites: MATH 098 or MATH 099 (or placement into any course with MATH& as the prefix)
