MMDP 101 Digital Foundations

5 credits
This hands-on foundation course introduces first quarter students to the broad range of software, hardware, technical skills, and best practices necessary to excel in different areas of the multimedia industry. Students will gain a basic understanding of the processes and programs involved in designing for print, web and mobile devices, creating basic 3D renderings and sculptural objects, producing videos, photos and animated imagery, and capturing and communicating ideas and scenes through drawing and illustration. Industry professionals and guest lecturers will assist in introducing and demonstrating the various programs, mediums, and concepts essential to getting the most out of the MMDP program. Additional emphasis will be given in best practices of file management and copyright.
Prerequisites: ABED 046 , MATH 070 .
