Students who successfully complete required courses in the Social Science distribution area will be able to:
Describe basic social science terminology, concepts, and, at least, one theory
Demonstrate how social and/or psychological factors affect behavior and critically analyze information about human behavior
Describe how culture, gender, and group identity influence the individual and the relationships between and among groups and recognize power imbalances within society
Demonstrate cultural humility and perspective-taking
Social Science Courses
The following courses meet the Social Science distribution requirement for associate degrees and certificates. Students enrolled in a Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) program should consult the program outline in the catalog for the specific 300- and 400-level courses that meet the Social Science requirement for their program.
