MAST 105 Fundamentals of Massage Therapy6 credits This course introduces the student to the history, theory, and practice of Swedish massage. It also addresses professional ethics and communication.
Corequisites: MAST 115 , MAST 125 .

Student Outcomes/Competencies: Upon successful completion of the course the student will be able to:
- Perform a professional and ethical Swedish massage
- Practice safe body mechanics
- Demonstrate an understanding of the theory behind massage
- Outline the history of massage
- Perform correct draping and positioning of client
- Identify client’s needs through the use of professional communication
