TLM 398 First Year Project for TLM Candidates2 credits This course provides an opportunity for students to conduct preliminary independent individual research or internship in the field of transportation and logistics management. It requires a written report and oral presentation of the research findings or internship outcomes. The purpose of this course is to give students a deeper understanding of the field in order to help them to formulate and refine their career goals and align the remainder of their BASTLM studies with these goals.
Prerequisites: TLM 301 and admission to the BASTLM program. Quarters Offered: Summer
Student Outcomes/Competencies: Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Analyze in-depth a facet of transportation management of relevance and interest to the student
- Work independently and apply learned aspects of transportation/logistics management to demonstrate competency in the chosen area of interest
- Formulate and convey findings in a clear, concise, and informative manner
- Integrate information gained via current research methodologies and technical sources
- Communicate information to supervisors, peers, and other interested parties.
