TLM 398 First Year Project for TLM Candidates

2 credits
This course provides an opportunity for students to conduct preliminary independent individual research or internship in the field of transportation and logistics management. It requires a written report and oral presentation of the research findings or internship outcomes. The purpose of this course is to give students a deeper understanding of the field in order to help them to formulate and refine their career goals and align the remainder of their BASTLM studies with these goals.

Prerequisites: TLM 301  and admission to the BASTLM program.

Student Outcomes/Competencies:
Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:

  • Analyze in-depth a facet of transportation management of relevance and interest to the student
  • Work independently and apply learned aspects of transportation/logistics management to demonstrate competency in the chosen area of interest
  • Formulate and convey findings in a clear, concise, and informative manner
  • Integrate information gained via current research methodologies and technical sources
  • Communicate information to supervisors, peers, and other interested parties.
