SHSV 256 Current Issues in Social & Human Services1-5 credits The student will select a current topic of interest in the field of Social and Human Services and research its impact on the diverse client base of today’s world.
Prerequisites: Instructor permission. Quarters Offered: Winter, Spring, Summer
Student Outcomes/Competencies: Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Identify the causes and potential solutions to problems facing individuals and families today
- Conduct a needs assessment and translate the results into project development
- Demonstrate the ability to gather analyze and apply information to practical client situations
- Model lifelong learning as related to professional growth and development in a social service career
