MACH 134 CNC Manual Practice and Programming8 credits In this course, students will manufacture 1-2-3 blocks, write and set-up a CNC production program, perform a machine process demonstration to fellow students, and learn tool-and-cutter grinding.
Prerequisites: MACH 124 or instructor permission Quarters Offered: All
Student Outcomes/Competencies: Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Independently create Computer Aided Machining (CAM) programs
- Independently set up and run Computer Aided Machining (CAM) programs on CNC
- Integrate the use of manual and CNC machining to complete a project within industry-acceptable timeframe
- Demonstrate advanced manual skills such as grinding tools for helical angles or holding squareness and perpendicularity within 2 thousandths of an inch
