MACH 130 Trigonometry and GD&T8 credits This course instructs students on the implementation of trigonometric principles to solve a variety of practical machining problems. The students will also be introduced to geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). Included will also be instruction on the safe setup and operation of CNC machines and an introduction to G-code programming.
Prerequisites: MACH 110 or instructor permission Quarters Offered: Winter
Student Outcomes/Competencies: Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Read and understand print view interpretation
- Read and understand dimensioning
- Read and understand GD&T terminology
- Read and understand True Position Dimensioning and tolerancing
- Identify geometric constructions and arrive at solutions
- Apply algebraic solutions and applications
- Apply trigonometry to machining solutions
- Create 2-D programs using Computer Aided Machining (CAM)
- Operate controls of CNC machines
