EASL 038 Citizenship Preparation3 credits This course is for ESL students who qualify and intend to apply for US Citizenship.
Prerequisites: EASL 016 and instructor permission. Student Outcomes/Competencies: Upon successful completion of the course students will be able to:
- Complete form N-400 (the Naturalization application) and answer questions based on it
- Describe the INS interview process
- Name key events, documents, and personages in the US history
- Answer correctly at least 70% of the Citizenship exam questions
- Demonstrate knowledge of the structures, function, and symbols of the US government and how this knowledge applies to the rights and responsibilities of being a citizen
