CEGT 211 Civil Engineering Graphics4 credits This is the entry-level civil engineering graphics course. Students will create drawings utilizing scales, map symbols, plot plans, legal descriptions, contours, profiles and layouts to complete civil engineering projects.
Prerequisites: ENGR 113 and ENGT 132 , or instructor permission. Student Outcomes/Competencies: Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Define and appropriately apply common civil engineering graphics terminology
- Describe common civil engineering graphics symbols and their application on maps
- Calculate acreage, area, volume, and elevations required to complete civil projects
- Draw profiles of roadways using elevation data
- Apply civil standard specifications to create civil engineering drawings
- Draw civil engineering layouts using appropriate scales and symbols
