CEGT 100 Introduction to Civil Engineering Technology4 credits This course is an overview of civil engineering disciplines: Transportation engineering, environmental engineering, and the infrastructure common in civil engineering projects. Students will begin to conceptualize and plan civil engineering projects such as airports, bridges, highways, etc.
Prerequisites: ENGR 113 or instructor permission. Student Outcomes/Competencies: Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Apply fundamental civil engineering concepts to complete simple civil graphics
- Describe basic principles of civil engineering disciplines
- Calculate stress and strain of material elements
- Use tools to research common civil engineering problems
- Create graphics to describe common civil engineering problems
- Analyze data and recommend strategies for improvement in civil engineering projects
