DHYG 411 Professional Practicum II1 credit
This course builds on DHYG 341 Professional Practicum I . Professional Practicum II incorporates the major learning themes of the LWTech Dental Hygiene Program curriculum resulting in the continuation of a student generated culminating capstone project and reflection, electronic portfolio, and professional development plan that will be completed in Spring quarter.
Prerequisites: DHYG 341 , DHYG 342 , DHYG 343 , DHYG 345 , DHYG 346 , and DHYG 349
Corequisites: DHYG 412 , DHYG 413 , DHYG 415 , and DHYG 416
Program Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Propose a learning contract related to their capstone project
- Prepare a capstone project using assessment, diagnosis, and planning steps of the ADPIE process to showcase disciplinary knowledge, ethics, professionalism, methods, and skill
- Demonstrate reflective learning by relating past, present, and future knowledge regarding the professional role of a dental hygienist
- Create an electronic portfolio to validate learning and professional development
- Develop and assess personal and professional goals in their professional development plan
